New Jersey Votes November 3, 2026
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. New Jersey voters will elect a United States Senator, representatives to Congress, and officials in various local races.
New Jersey has 12 congressional districts, each represented by one member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The state also has two U.S. Senators, Democrats Cory Booker and Andy Kim.
Currently, nine members of New Jersey’s congressional delegation are Democrats and three are Republicans.
Senator Cory Booker is seeking reelection against Republican Justin Murphy, whom New Jersey Right to Life PAC has endorsed, and other candidates.
The National Picture: Control of Congress at Stake
Republicans currently hold a 53 to 47 majority in the U.S. Senate, counting the two independents who caucus with Democrats. Democrats would need a net gain of four seats to secure a majority.
Republicans also hold a narrow majority in the House of Representatives. The November election will determine which party controls each chamber when the new Congress convenes in January.
Why Your Vote Matters
Midterm elections typically attract fewer voters than presidential elections. Congressional and local races can be decided by narrow margins, making voter participation an important part of the democratic process.
